Join us for an enriching learning experience that will elevate your lace knitting and chart reading abilities to new heights taught by knitwear designer, Whitney Terrell!

 Purpose:

This class is designed to empower knitters with the skills and confidence to master lace knitting and chart reading. Whether you're a beginner looking to delve into the intricate world of lace knitting or an experienced knitter seeking to refine your chart reading skills, Lace Knitting and Chart Ready Mastery offers valuable insights and practical guidance.

By sharing experiences, answering questions, and providing personalized support, Whitney helps each student develop a system that aligns with their unique knitting style. The optional Diamond's Edge Shawlette project provides an opportunity to apply newfound skills in a supportive and creative environment.

 At the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Recognize the basic techniques and stitches involved in lace knitting, including yarn overs, decreases, and pattern repeats.
  • Interpret and follow lace knitting charts, including understanding symbols, repeats, and tracking progress.
  • Develop effective strategies for keeping track of your work on complex lace knitting projects, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors.
  • Tailor chart reading and lace knitting techniques to fit your individual knitting styles and preferences.
  • Create the lace design in the Diamond's Edge Shawlette pattern

  • Diamond's Edge Shawlette pattern – included
  • US 7 Circular needle (24”) – not included
  • Scrap yarn swatch for practice (set up instructions will be sent prior to class)

*Please note that the in-person class will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing an immersive learning experience for local attendees. Additionally, for those unable to attend in person, a virtual class will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., allowing participants to join remotely and still benefit from the instruction and guidance provided.
